Best fit
WAV is a common export from audio editors, field recorders, and podcast software. Use the original spoken-word recording when possible, rather than a version with added music or sound effects.
Uploads use private temporary storage and are deleted after processing. Signed-in users receive a private saved transcript plus TXT, SRT, and VTT copies; signed-out results stay only in the current tab. Review the privacy policy before using sensitive material.
What to expect from this conversion
Large WAV recordings
Uncompressed WAV can reach the 200 MB upload limit quickly. Split a long recording at a natural pause, or export a speech-quality MP3 from your audio editor. Renaming a file extension does not convert its format.
Audio quality
A WAV container does not guarantee clear speech. Clipping, distant microphones, background conversations, and overlapping speakers still affect recognition. Listen to a short preview before starting.
After transcription
Download TXT for notes or editing. SRT and WebVTT use timing from the uploaded recording; if you cut silence or change playback speed afterward, the subtitle times must be adjusted too.

Do I need to convert WAV to MP3 first?
No. Upload a supported WAV file directly. Conversion is only useful if you need to reduce a file that exceeds the 200 MB limit.
Will the transcript include music?
The tool recognizes spoken English. It does not produce a musical score or a description of background sounds.
