Best fit
Use a recording you have permission to process. A close microphone and a clear lecturer voice are more useful than a distant room recording full of audience noise.
Uploads use private temporary storage and are deleted after processing. Signed-in users receive a private saved transcript plus TXT, SRT, and VTT copies; signed-out results stay only in the current tab. Review the privacy policy before using sensitive material.
What to expect from this conversion
Technical vocabulary
Automatic recognition can mishear names, acronyms, equations spoken aloud, and subject-specific terms. Compare the draft with your course materials. Do not treat the transcript as a corrected set of study notes.
Slides and whiteboards
SceneDub transcribes audible speech. It does not read slides, whiteboards, handwritten equations, or text visible only in a video frame. Keep those visual materials alongside the transcript.
Long classes
Split a large recording at a break in the lecture and name the parts in order. Keep the original recordings until you have checked the combined transcript. The service's fair-use, upload-size, and processing safeguards still apply.

Will it make lecture notes or flashcards?
No. The tool produces a transcript of the spoken audio. You can use that draft to write notes or make flashcards yourself.
Can it read text on presentation slides?
No. The current tool is speech recognition, not OCR. It only transcribes words spoken in the audio track.
