About
About SceneDub
A free browser-based studio for dubbing short scenes, practicing voice acting, recording audio and converting speech to text.
What SceneDub does
SceneDub is a browser-based dubbing game. You choose a short scene, record its dialogue one line at a time, keep your preferred takes, and hear those recordings placed back into the finished scene.
Prototype media and rights
The current scenes are short adaptations of reviewed Creative Commons and public-domain media, including comedy sketches, stand-up, parody, animation, and social-origin clips. Every scene includes its applicable license, creator credit, and original source link.
How the guides are made
SceneDub's guides answer distinct questions that arise while choosing a dubbing tool, practicing performance, teaching with recorded scenes, or preparing short-form creator work. They describe the current product honestly, including browser limitations, missing integrations, licensing, and the difference between practice and professional production.
Read the editorial and product methodologyPrototype limits
SceneDub does not currently accept arbitrary video uploads, publish directly to social platforms, score acting, or replace professional ADR and editing tools. Browser codec support determines whether a finished video can be exported; synchronized preview remains available when export is unsupported.
