Interview transcription
Transcribe an interview
Turn an interview recording into a searchable text draft. Upload English audio or video, review the conversation, and export text or subtitles.
How it works
- Choose the clearest interview recording, with as little background music as possible.
- Generate the transcript and listen again to names, quotations, and unclear exchanges.
- Download TXT for editorial work, or SRT and VTT for a video interview.
After transcription, download plain text, SRT subtitles, or WebVTT captions from the same result.
Best fit
Use interview transcription for research notes, creator interviews, oral histories, and editorial preparation. Get permission to record and upload the conversation before using third-party processing.
Uploads use private temporary storage and are deleted after processing. Signed-in users receive a private saved transcript plus TXT, SRT, and VTT copies; signed-out results stay only in the current tab. Review the privacy policy before using sensitive material.
What to expect from this conversion
Speaker labels
The current transcriber returns text and word timing, not verified speaker identities. Add speaker names manually in your editor. Closely spaced interruptions may need comparison with the original audio.
Quoting accurately
An automatic transcript is a draft, not a verified quotation. Check important passages against the recording, especially numbers, names, negations, and technical terminology. Keep the original audio as your reference.
Sensitive conversations
Media is sent to a speech-recognition provider for processing. Review your consent and confidentiality requirements before uploading research or private interviews. Redact material that should not be sent to a third party.
Frequently asked questions
Does it automatically identify interview speakers?
No. SceneDub provides transcript text and timing; it does not verify identities or label each interviewer and guest.
Can I turn a video interview into subtitles?
Yes. Upload a supported MP4 or WebM recording and download SRT or WebVTT. Review recognition and speaker changes before publishing.

What does Audio transcriber do?
SceneDub converts English speech in an uploaded audio or video file into a transcript. Download TXT for notes, SRT for subtitle editors, or VTT for web players. Speech recognition creates a draft: check names, numbers, and unclear passages against the recording before sharing.
