What this practice is

A fandub replaces original character dialogue with a fan performance. SceneDub provides openly licensed short scenes, scripts, timestamps, and backing audio so you can focus on performing the new dub.

Rights matter when sharing fan work. The current prototype displays the source, creator credit, and license for every scene; other videos may require separate permission from their owners.

A focused three-step workflow

  1. 1Choose a licensed scene and decide on your interpretation.
  2. 2Record and keep a take for each prompted line.
  3. 3Preview the assembled fandub and retain its required attribution when sharing.

Coaching notes

  • Create a new interpretation instead of tracing every vocal detail.
  • Maintain one relationship across all recorded lines.
  • Check the license before publishing any fan-made dub.
