# Five original voice-practice prompts

These are original SceneDub practice scripts, not dialogue taken from films.
Record each once, listen back, then change one specific choice for the next take.
Do not force your pitch or volume; use a comfortable speaking voice.

## 1. Reassurance

Listener: a friend about to record for the first time.
Intention: help them stop rushing.

"The studio is quiet now. Take a breath. We have time.
Tell the story to one person. Good. Let's try that again."

Second take: let the pauses do more of the work.

## 2. A small discovery

Listener: a colleague who has already searched the room.
Intention: share a useful discovery without sounding triumphant.

"Wait. This isn't the final page. There's another note on the back.
It says the meeting moved to Thursday. We haven't missed it."

Second take: delay the relief until the final sentence.

## 3. A practical explanation

Listener: someone following a process for the first time.
Intention: make the next step feel manageable.

"Open the caption file beside your video. Find one clear word and
check when it appears. If every caption is late by the same amount,
start with a small timing adjustment. Then check the end as well."

Second take: stress only the action words.

## 4. A difficult request

Listener: a teammate whose help you need.
Intention: ask directly, while respecting their time.

"I know you said you were finished for today. The opening still
doesn't sound right to me. Could we try one more version together?
After that, I'll make the decision."

Second take: keep the request steady instead of apologetic.

## 5. A quiet ending

Listener: an audience at the end of a personal story.
Intention: let a small detail carry the emotion.

"The room looked exactly as we'd left it. Two cups beside the
microphone. A pencil across the page. I turned off the light,
but this time I left the door open."

Second take: make the ending conversational, not theatrical.
